Primary Role

You will be a dynamic, professional, front of house person with excellent inter personal skills, strong emotional balance, possessing a teamwork spirit and be well presented with an interest and appreciation of fine food and drink. You must have worked as a server in a good quality hotel or restaurant, which features finer dining standards, and have served a menu with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. You will be required to serve food and drinks adhering to systems and standards as set out during the training period.


  • Check for quality and presentation to designated F&B standards for all items prior to delivering/serving
  • Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests according to specifications, courteously and efficiently
  • Ensure accurate information is communicated at all time, keeping in mind personal preferences and/or dietary restriction or allergens
  • Deliver consistently outstanding service
  • Is pleasant and courteous with all guests
  • Works with all team members in a professional and courteous manner
  • Is an independent, self-motivated individual who works well alone or in a team
  • Properly set-up and maintain a clean efficient service area throughout the shift
  • Responsible for ringing orders into Micros, and delivering orders
  • Maintain current knowledge of wines, other beverages, local restaurants, food trends and industry practices
  • Appropriate uniform and name badge to be worn at all times
  • Perform any general cleaning tasks assigned by the Manager
  • Is able to remain calm under stressful situations
  • Understand and follow Emergency/Fire Procedure responsibilities within the hotel
  • Must be physically fit: able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist, reach above head
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check
  • Must be available to work early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Assist other staff in their sections by helping where needed
  • Possibly assist with service in other venues
  • Maintains supplies neat and organized to department standards
  • Maintains and cleaning all service equipment
  • Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures by reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions and completing safety training and certifications
  • Have full knowledge of menus, beverage lists and promotions
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Must have proficient knowledge of English language
  • Obtains Smart Serve certification

You will be required to sign the company’s Cash Handling Policy and adhere to all standards therein.
