Banquet Supervisor

Location: 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy, North York Ontario



Position:

Banquet Supervisor (Entry level) Full time/Part time

Objective:

To provide exceptional and efficient business management of events operations

Job Description

The following responsibilities are required to be executed, but not limited to updates due to business development and industry trends:

  • Supervising of daily operations of the company, prior, during and post events.
  • Fostering productivity at all times with all company staff including bars, cleaning staff and security team
  • To address operational issues in a timely fashion, must follow up completion of work orders
  • To plan and organize all events teams and information flow with other departments (kitchen, bars, etc.)
  • Lead by example and promote a fair and positive environment
  • Review services standards daily / weekly as needed with captains
  • Check all function rooms to ensure they are ready and set to standards and BEO’s
  • Manage staff availability and records of staff requests days off; new hires as well as uniform stocks, collaborate with O.M to order and replenish inventory as need it
  • Demonstrate a calm, courteous, friendly and professional demeanour at all times
  • To work well under pressure
  • Ensure all assigned events are developing on time and to confirm client satisfaction
  • Daily pre-function walks of the building for operational issues, cleanliness, etc.
  • To assist GM and other executives with special projects, events

This role is event based with evening and weekend shifts not limited to early openings as well, forecast two-week schedule to be planned with O.M and to be approved by G.M.

The right candidate will have:

  • Knowledge in food and beverage service execution including, weddings, corporate meetings and conferences etc.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time during events
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the field of food and beverage, past supervision or management of staff in a hospitality environment is an asset.
  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management and/or equivalent an asset
  • This is an entry level position.
