The Banquet Captain /Room Manager
- Reports to the Operations Manager and General Manager
- Supervises all service staff during the set-up, execution and tear down of all events
Ensures the 5 Star Service practises are upheld at all times, by all staff:

Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Practises & implements a culture of "5 Star Service"
- Immediate supervisor for all service staff
- Manually signs in/out all service staff
- Sends Banquet Servers & Coat Check Attendants on scheduled breaks, ensuring proper coverage is in place
- Leads set up of guest tables & food stations
- Includes set up of tables, chairs & side stands
- Ensures all necessary table centres are placed at each table
- Pre and post party food station set up
- Holds pre-function briefing for all staff
- Introduces themselves to & checks-in with client on regular basis
- Addresses any concerns that the client may have (bringing these concerns to upper management if necessary)
- Communicates with the Operations Manager & Executive Chef to call service times
- Leads service within their assigned room
- Ensures halls are maintained at all times
- Clearing of dirty dishware, glassware & empties (wine, water)
- Leads tear down of the function
- Includes all food stations & guest tables
- Removes linens and drops them off in designated areas
- Stacks & stores chairs
- Ensures kitchen is clean
- Provides post function notes & staff hours to Staff Manager immediately following each function
Attends mandatory 5 Star Service Training Sessions
Required Skills
- Speaks clear and fluent English
Qualifications and Education Requirements
SMART serve certification
Ability to lift 30lbs.
